Delivery, open and click tracking
What “delivered”, “opened” and “clicked” mean for each channel and how Nerja measures them.
The metrics#
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Reached | Recipients the campaign contacted |
| Delivered | The message arrived (or provider confirmed delivery) |
| Opened | The recipient opened it (push: tapped the notification) |
| Clicked | They tapped a link or the action button |
| Customers / Orders / Revenue | Purchases attributed to the campaign within 90 days of a click |
Per recipient you also see exact times and, for failures, a plain-language reason.

Each step is a subset of the previous one. The campaign page shows your real figures for every step.
Push#
- Mobile SDK — reports delivered when the app receives the push, opened on tap, clicked on the action button.
- Web push — the service worker reports delivered, opened and clicked using the receipt address in the push.
- Any tap on the link goes through Nerja's signed redirect, which records the click (and implies open and delivery) before landing on your page.
Email#
Opens use a tracking pixel; clicks use the redirect. Delivery comes from your email provider.
Attribution#
A click starts an attribution session. A purchase from the same person inside the window is credited to the campaign that earned the click — and recovery messages stop once they buy.
Honest limits#
- FCM itself has no delivery receipt. For a push the system shows while your app is closed, “delivered” is recorded when the user taps (or when the app next runs the SDK).
- Email opens can be inflated or hidden by mail privacy features; clicks are the more reliable signal.
